Customer / Designer Q & A’s
Because of competitor propaganda it is often in our best interest to not give them more fodder. Here
are some questions and answers to honestly educate people at the same time.
Q: What is the product made of?
A: The formula’s ingredients are proprietary. The EPA has given our base carrier ingredient a rating of
GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe). The MicroSeal protectant (active ingredient) is non-toxic, non-
allergenic, biodegradable, aerospace approved and backed by worldwide independent laboratory tests.
Q: Is it water based or solvent based?
A: A high grade hybrid solvent that has been given a GRAS rating from the EPA and is California VOC
compliant.
Q: What is the protectant (active ingredient) (what is left behind)?
A: The formula’s ingredients are proprietary. The protectant is non-toxic, non-allergenic, biodegradable,
aerospace approved and backed by worldwide independent laboratory tests. One of the main active
ingredients of MicroSeal is a high-grade specially formulated silicon that is non-toxic, non-allergenic, and
biodegradable. After the formula’s carrier evaporates, MicroSeal has zero VOC’s.
Q: I’ve heard silicon “attracts” soil?
A: This is true with poorly formulated products. MicroSeal has been proven in worldwide certified
laboratory testing and high profile user’s not to “attract” soil. MicroSeal is WoolSafe Certified.
Q: Is silicon safe for my interior?
A: Depending on the manufacturing processes, there are many vital uses for silicon in electronics,
construction, automotive, toy products, including vital nutrition for joints, bones and skin. Silicon is the
second most common element in the earth’s crust (oxygen is the first, See silicon – Wikipedia), which
is about as “earth friendly” as a product can get. Unlike fluorochemicals or Teflon, an internet search
for “silicon” won’t come up with anything negative. Our factory uses specially formulated high grade
silicon. MicroSeal does not cause yellowing or stickiness like some poorly formulated silicon based
products in the industry. MicroSeal has been proven superior in performance and environmentally safer
than fluorochemical based products.
Q: Why is your product better?
A: MicroSeal is a penetrator, not a coater. Coaters are hard and break up easily (upon manipulation
or cleaning) becoming dirt traps that makes the fabric more difficult to clean than if the carpet had no
protection at all. MicroSeal penetrates the individual fibers forming a “flexible” barrier that does not
break up.
Q: Is MicroSeal VOC compliant?
A: MicroSeal is California VOC compliant (California has the strictest environmental laws in the country).
